So, our son turned 5 yesterday. He got lots of nifty presents, as he always does. His granny gave him a card with $30 in it… $30! I never had so much money at one time as a kid, though I’m not factoring in inflation and fiduciary spending and such. So he holds the $10 and $20 bills, one in each hand, and looks confused. “You got money!” I say, trying to convey the excitement of future toys that the money represented. “Oh boy!” he says… “I really, really hope it’s enough for a doughnut!”.
